April Lee Connection

Spring is in full swing, and we have another month full of great FLASC events! Our luncheon this month has a Kentucky Derby theme, so don’t forget to put on your best derby attire to play bingo with us! We invite you to bring a friend to the luncheon this month– for every member who brings a guest, both the member and guest get one free opportunity ticket each! We also have a special book club event this month: dinner at City Table with a local

author, Libby Carty McNamee, where we will discuss her book Susanna’s Midnight Ride: The Girl Who Won the Revolutionary War. This novel is a true account of a local hero from City Point who helped turn the tides of the Revolutionary War. We hope you’ll be able to join us!

Last but certainly not least, we have an amazing opportunity to give back to our local veteran’s population by volunteering at the Lonesome Dove Equestrian Center! We will be collecting goods at our luncheon for the veterans to use (see page 4), plus we have set aside a day to go out to the center to serve lunch to the veterans there. I look forward to seeing you at one of our amazing FLASC events this month!

April Outreach

Our outreach for this month is Lonesome Dove Equestrian Center. We will be collecting paper plates, plastic utensils, napkins, paper towels, water bottles, and coffee. These items will be used by veterans who utilize the center. The center also asks for donations of unwanted trophies, which can be re-purposed for veteran’s events. Donations can be brought to the April Luncheon.

Our March Adventures

In March we had a lot of fun, but very few pictures! Our March outing took place at our very own Angie Bellamy’s house, where members created beautiful personalized serving trays. At our Make It, Bake It, Fake It, Take It Luncheon, our silent auction raised over $500! We also heard from the Feed More organization, whom we presented with a check during the luncheon. Several of our sub clubs met last month, including a delicious meet-up with Lunch Bunch. We hope to see you next month at another one of our great events!
