November Lee Connection
November is upon us, which means the holidays– and a crazy holiday schedule– is rapidly
approaching! We’ve decided to cut back on our sub club activities this month and try to keep the end of the month as open as possible for those of you who are traveling for Thanksgiving. Hopefully you’ll use the time to visit with family, loosen your belt over a great meal, and rejoin us in December for even more FLASC fun!

DECKING THE FORT 2018
November 27, 2018 9:00 am
The Fort Lee Area Spouses’ Club (FLASC) in partnership with the Historic Lee Club is happy to announce Decking the Fort 2018 holiday decorating event. Historically, ornamenting the tree during the holidays has been enjoyed by many cultures. Many years ago, as one of the outreach programs, FLASC volunteered time to assist the Lee Club with decorating and providing a festive holiday atmosphere for all to enjoy. FLASC later decided this opportunity would be a great event to share with Fort Lee and its surrounding communities, bringing both together, a partnership and support during the holiday season. This has become an annual event where post and community partners come to the Lee Club and decorate a tree that will be displayed throughout the holiday season. This year Lynette Lee has graciously volunteered to chair the event. Please let her know if you will be able to attend and help with this activity. There will be a sign up sheet at the November Luncheon.
Lunch will be provided free of charge for all volunteers so we need an accurate count. Remember to wear comfortable clothing. Thank you for all you do.

Our October Adventures
We had another fun month of events in October! Our luncheon was a huge success, with a $500 donation to SOLE Hope from FLASC, an additional $220 donated from members during the luncheon, and 79 children’s shoe patterns cut! Thanks to all of our wonderful members who attended the luncheon and helped us in our efforts! We had a full table at our October Outing, Fort Lee’s Oktoberfest, with authentic German food and traditional music and dancing. The Lunch Bunch (middle right) met at The Boathouse in Hopewell for a
delicious meal and great conversation. Our Book Club (top right) had the privilege of speaking with the author of our October book, Becca Whitham, where we learned about the writing, editing, and publishing processes– we look forward to the release of the third book in your series, Becca! If you’re sad you missed out on any of these great events, check out the calendar below to find out where you can find us in November!
